About Split PDF
Split PDF divides one PDF into smaller PDFs. You can split it into single pages, extract a page range, pick specific pages, or cut it into fixed chunks of equal size. Each result is downloaded as a file or as a zip of files, depending on the mode you choose. It is made for pulling one chapter, form or invoice out of a long document, or for breaking a large file into parts that are easier to email or upload.
Long PDFs are awkward to share: a recipient may need only pages 5 to 9 of a 50-page report, or a portal may cap file size. Splitting gives you just the pages you need, without printing, scanning or editing the original.
How to use Split PDF
- Choose a PDF with “Select PDF file”.
- Pick a split mode in the options panel: single pages, a page range, specific pages, or fixed intervals.
- Enter the pages or interval for that mode, and check the live preview of the ranges that will be created.
- Press “Split PDF” and download the resulting file or zip.
Why use Split PDF
Four ways to split, all free, all in the browser — pick the one that matches the job instead of working around a single mode.
- Single pages — one PDF per page, in a zip, for handing out pages separately.
- Ranges and specific pages — extract exactly the pages you need, in the order you list them.
- Fixed intervals — cut a long PDF into equal chunks, with a live preview of each range before you split.

Frequently asked questions
How are split pages named?
Each page is saved as page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf, and so on, inside the zip file.
Can I split a PDF into equal parts?
Yes, with fixed-interval mode. Enter how many pages each part should have, check the live preview of the ranges, and the tool creates one file per part, with the last part holding whatever pages remain.
What happens if I enter a page that does not exist?
The tool checks your pages against the PDF's page count and shows an error for out-of-range pages, instead of producing a broken file.
Can I extract pages out of order?
Yes, in specific-pages mode. Enter pages in the order you want them, such as 5, 1, 3, and the result follows that order.
How many files will fixed-interval mode create?
It depends on the page count and the interval. For example, 51 pages split every 5 pages gives 11 files: ten of 5 pages and one of 1 page. The live preview shows the exact ranges before you split.
