CGPA to Percentage
About CGPA Calculator
The CGPA Calculator works out your Cumulative Grade Point Average across all your semesters. Pick your grade scale, add each semester with its SGPA and credits, and the tool weights every semester by its credits — so a heavy semester counts more than a light one — and shows your CGPA, total credits, total grade points and the equivalent percentage.
The page also converts CGPA to percentage. There is no single standard formula — some universities use CGPA × 9.5 and others CGPA × 10 — so pick the formula your university uses, or enter a custom multiplier.
How to use CGPA Calculator
- Pick your grade scale — 10-point or 4.0 — then add a row for each semester and enter its SGPA and credits.
- Read your CGPA: it updates live as you change anything.
- To convert, enter your CGPA and pick the conversion formula.
- Read the percentage.
Why use CGPA Calculator
Working out a CGPA by hand means weighting every semester and keeping the credits straight. This tool does it in one step.
- Weighted by credits — every semester counts in proportion to its credits, as universities calculate it.
- Both directions in one place — your overall CGPA and its percentage equivalent without opening another tool.
- Your university's formula — pick × 9.5, × 10 or a custom multiplier instead of a fixed guess.
Common uses
Common uses include checking your overall result for placements and higher-study applications, seeing how one more semester changes your CGPA, and converting a CGPA into the percentage many application forms ask for.

Frequently asked questions
How is CGPA calculated?
Multiply each semester's SGPA by its credits, add those up, then divide by the total credits across all semesters.
What is the difference between SGPA and CGPA?
SGPA is the average for one semester. CGPA is the average across every semester so far, weighted by credits.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
Multiply your CGPA by your university's multiplier — 9.5 under the CBSE formula, 10 at many other universities. There is no single standard, so use the one your university states.
What if my semesters have different credits?
That is exactly why the calculator asks for credits: a semester with more credits counts more in the CGPA than one with fewer.
Does the tool save my results?
No. Everything you enter stays in your browser and is never uploaded, saved or shared.
Which grade scale should I pick?
Use the 10-point scale if your university’s SGPA is out of 10, and the 4.0 scale if it is out of 4.0. The calculator checks each semester’s SGPA against the scale you pick and shows the matching percentage.
